Terms & Conditions

All orders are accepted subject to the following Terms & Conditions and subject to availability. Sid & Olive reserves the right to change these Terms & Conditions at any time.
 
 
Item Hire
 
  • Self-collection is free of charge, with no minimum spend, and should be pre-arranged with Jo & Lou.
 
  • Personal Delivery can be arranged for orders over £50, to locations within 300 miles. Delivery fees will apply. If you see any damages to your items on arrival, you must notify us straight away and provide us with photos. Set up is FREE!
 
  • Courier Delivery can be arranged for orders over £50, to locations over 300 miles away. This service is only available on items marked with the van logo due to size and weight restrictions. The standard courier price is £85 return, however if more than one box is required then costs will be higher. 
 
  • If you choose the courier option you agree to take responsibility for being available to accept the delivery on the specified date, and you also agree to have the items packaged up (in the same way as they were delivered) and ready to be collected again on the date specified, or to drop the items off at your local Drop Off Point as agreed. All returns labels provided in the boxes must be attached to the boxes for collection, if this is not done and items get lost the customer is held responsible. We will not be held responsible if the courier is unable to make the delivery or collection, and you may be liable to pay an additional courier charge if a re-collection needs to be arranged.
 
  • Please note that couriers have restrictions with relation to size, weight and materials that they can carry - for this reason not all of our items are available for courier delivery, even at a supplement. Due to UK health and safety regulations couriers cannot carry glass.
 
 
  • All courier parcels will be delivered a few days before your date, if there are any problems with your delivery please notify us and we will get this rectified as best we can before your date. If this is not done then we cannot be held responsible if the items aren't delivered on time. A delivery and collection address must be provided at least a week before your date, we cannot be held responsible for deliveries not arriving on time for your event if an address isn't provided at least a week before.
 
  • Our products are subject to specific safety warnings. WARNING:  Our items are not toys.  Children should always be supervised by an adult. Not suitable for children under 36 months.  Sharp Points. Physicall Injury. Glass. Heavy Elements. Choking Hazard.
 
 
 
Venue Dressing
 
  • The venue dressing service cost includes an initial email consultation, a pre-event venue visit and the dressing of the venue itself on either the morning of or the night before the wedding or event. It also includes disassembly and collection on the morning following the wedding or event if required.
 
  • The venue dressing service can be in addition to our item hire, or as a stand-alone service where we use your own accessories to dress the venue.
 
  • Prices begin at £300, and vary depending on the size and scale of the task.
 
  • We will travel up to 100 miles from our base at CH45 to dress venues.
 
  • It is your responsibility to find out if your venue has any specific requirements for suppliers, and to pass this information on to us before making your booking. We cannot accept responsibility for cancellation of a job due to this information not being provided. For information all of our lights are PAT tested to current UK standards, and we hold Public Liability insurance up to the value of £1,000,000.
 
  • Travel to and from the venue can be arranged to locations within 100 miles. Delivery fees will apply.
 
 
Venue Design
 
  • The venue design service includes unlimited e-mail advice, an initial face-to-face consultation, a pre-event venue visit and the dressing of the venue itself on either the morning of or the night before the wedding or event. It also includes disassembly and collection on the morning following the wedding or event.
 
  • Prices begin at £700, which covers the consultation, design and dressing fee; and from then on will vary depending on the amout of items you choose to hire.
 
  • Travel to and from the venue within 15 miles of our base is included in the service charge, however a charge of 65p per mile beyond this will be made for weddings and events further afield. For example, for an event in Manchester (50 miles from our base) the first 5 miles would be free, then the remaining 160 miles (return drop-off and pick-up) would cost £104.​ Parking charges may apply.
 
 
Booking Fee & Cancellation
 
  • To secure a booking, a none refundable fee of 25% of the total hire price must be paid at the time of booking. The remaining balance must be paid at any point before 30 days prior to the hire date. When booking is made within 30 days of the hire date, the full hire price must be paid.
 
  • We accept payment via cheque, cash, Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Paypal.
 
  • Should you wish to cancel your order, you may do so in writing at any time. If cancellation is made then you will lose the amount paid up to that point - therefore if you choose to cancel within 30 days of your event, then the full amount will be payable. However if you choose to cancel earlier than 30 days before your event, you will only forfeit the 25% booking fee, and will not be required to pay the remaining 75%.

Loss or Damage of Goods
 
  • Although all items remain the property of Sid & Olive, whilst in posession of our items you are wholly responsible for them. Our items should not be left outdoors or displayed outside in bad weather, if our items get wet or damaged in any way then replacement costs will apply.
 
  • Please be aware that as many of our items are rustic, they may have some flaws and imperfections such as rust damage.
 
  • You are liable to cover the replacement costs of any items lost or damaged during your hire period.  Your hire cost will include a deposit depending on the value of the items hired. On safe return of all items in a good condition this deposit will be refunded to you via bank transfer. Any replacement costs incurred will be deducted from this deposit.
 
  • Whilst in possession of our items and packages you must make every effort to ensure that your guests respect our property, and also adhere to the general health and safety guidance to ensure that everyone can enjoy our items and packages safely. Please ensure (and advise your venue staff) that all items are brought indoors during rainy weather - any items damaged by wet weather will be charged for.
 
  • It is your responsibility to ensure that all items are available for collection at the agreed time, and to communicate this information to the venue staff where appropriate. In cases where items are not ready for collection, or where items are missing and later found, it will be your responsibility to return the items to us, or to cover the additional travel costs incurred by us if we need to make additional journeys to retrieve them.

Sid and Olive and “Joanna Welch” are committed to protecting your privacy. When you book with Sid and Olive, you enter in an agreement, which means that we will collect certain information and data about you.

We use this data to:
-Provide the services to you that you have requested

-To keep in contact with you regarding your wedding or event                    

-To collect and recover money that is due to us

-To obey laws and regulations that may apply to us

-To run our business in an efficient and proper manner

-To enable us to respond to complaints and seek to resolve them

Sid and Olive does not collect, use or disclose sensitive personal information such as race, religion or political affiliations, without your explicit consent.


In order to provide the highest level of customer service possible, we need to keep accurate personal data about you. We take reasonable steps to ensure the accuracy of any personal data or sensitive information we obtain. We are committed that the source of any personal data or sensitive information is clear and we carefully consider any challenges to the accuracy of the information. We also consider when it is necessary to update the information, such as name or address changes and you can help us by informing us of these changes when they occur.

 

Retention of data:
We will ensure that all hard copies of personal data documents and records are clearly labelled with non-sensitive information. These documents will then be secured in cabinets. No unauthorised person will have access to these documents or be able to make copies of documents that contain personally
 
We will store your data for 6 months after you event or for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting or reporting requirements.
Transmitting information over the Internet is generally not completely secure, and we can’t guarantee the security of your data. Any data you transmit is at your own risk.


Sid and Olive advises you to review the privacy policies of websites you choose to link to from the Sid and Olive website so that you can understand how those websites collect, use and share your information. Sid and Olive is not responsible for the privacy policies or other content on websites outside of the Sid and Olive website.


If you choose not to give us your personal data information it will prevent Sid and Olive from being able to meet its obligations. It may also mean that we are unable to perform services required and Sid and Olive ‘Joanna Welch’ will have to cancel your booking. Any data collection that is optional will be made clear at the time of collection.
 

Third parties:
Your Financial Data is the data that we use to process your Sid and Olive booking payments. We do not hold or process your card details ourselves, they are processed and stored via one of our contracted third party service providers, currently Stripe Inc.

Sharing your data:
We share your personal data with the following organisations:
-Our payment provider, currently Stripe Inc  

-Invoice payments through Wave                                                       

-Any organisation you ask us to share your personal data with. -Any mailing or printing agents, contractors and advisors that provide a service to us or act as our agents on the understanding that they keep the information confidential.                                                                                                          

-Anyone to whom we may transfer our rights and duties under any agreement we have with you i.e. for payment processing.

-We may pass on your personal information if we have a legal obligation to do so, or if we have to enforce or apply our terms of use and other agreements. This includes exchanging information for legal reasons.

We’re also committed to helping our customers meet their requirements under the Regulation.”


Data subject rights:
We have obligations to you under the terms of your Sid and Olive Terms and Conditions, whether current or past, and also our duties and responsibilities arising under rules and regulations applicable to all companies such as ours. You have rights in relation to your personal data held by us. These include your right to ensure that the data collected is accurate and, if it is not, requesting changes and notifying us of any restrictions you wish to make in relation to our use of your data or even requesting it is removed altogether. In practical terms the best way to access and manage your data is request from us the details we hold for you and request any changes.


Use of Cookies
You have the ability to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. If you choose to decline cookies, you may not be able to fully experience the interactive features of the Sid and Olive services or website you visit.
Security of your Personal Information
Sid and Olive undertakes to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, use or disclosure. Sid and Olive secures the personally identifiable information you provide on computer servers in a controlled, secure environment, protected from unauthorised access, use or disclosure

Sid and Olive and “Joanna W” will occasionally update this Privacy Policy to reflect company and customer feedback and to meet the requirements as set out in law. Sid and Olive and “Joanna W” will encourage you to periodically review this Policy to be informed of how we are protecting your information.
